I'll be your shoulder when you get sad
Your conscience when you get mad
I'll be the answer to all of your life's dreams
I'll be the most fun you've ever had
Do my best to be a good dad
No matter how hard life sometimes seems

I'll be the promise I promise to keep
Catch your tears each time you weep
I'll be the light that always lights your way
I'll be the one who counts the sheep
When you're restless and you can't sleep
I'll be the place your head can always lay

I'll be the love that will transcend
Like none can comprehend
I'll be there until God says it's time to leave
I'll be your beginning and your end
The one that you call friend
