Ignorant Bliss

I lay on the couch huddled up in a ball, I cant move an inch as I wait for his call, The strings start to snap, it'a physical pain, Inside I am crippled and he is to blame. The pain so immense I just lie there and stare, At the tree in the corner, no presents, still bare, The children in bed only four hours to go, Christmas day on it's way, I just can't let this show, He told me he stopped and we'd got Daddy back, He promised me he was not taking that crack, I knew in my heart it was never to be, Assured me he'd do it for the children and me. The door opens wide, he walks in with some toys, Dolls for the girls and some cars for the boys, Relief in my heart, ignorance in my head, He'd convinced me, I'm wrong! as we climb up to bed. , ,
