Ignorance Is Not Bliss

There isn't anything wrong with being ignorant,
but Choosing To Remain Ignorant is a completely different thing.
If I were religious, I would consider it a mortal sin.
Ignorance is not bliss, that's an indoctrination.
Choosing to remain ignorant denies you awareness from higher learning,
and has often been the foundation for many a nation's undoing.

Enjoyed your poem. Counter point: we are all ignorant... on a frighteningly large scale. Even the amount of things we CAN know is astonishingly finite. Perhaps beside the point you were trying to make, but this poem made me think so well done.

Racists, closed mindedness, they who follow blindly because, "that's the way it is," they who never consider alternatives, to the values their culture imposed upon them presently established. These are some examples of They Who Choose To Remain Ignorant, which my poem was referring, and honestly, I find all of them quite frustrating. I agree with your counter point, and thanks for commenting.
