Ignorance Is Bliss
What if we knew
Where things would go
The depth of dysfunction
To come as we grow
What if looking back
Was, instead, up ahead
Once, witnessed, the pain
We’d become filled with dread
Could we handle the truth
Right there in one sitting
Would our destined commitments
Still be worth committing
Would dreamers still dream
Would children still pray
Would the young still be green
Or the whole world be grey
