Ignorance Is Bliss

What if we knew Where things would go The depth of dysfunction To come as we grow What if looking back Was, instead, up ahead Once, witnessed, the pain We’d become filled with dread Could we handle the truth Right there in one sitting Would our destined commitments Still be worth committing Would dreamers still dream Would children still pray Would the young still be green Or the whole world be grey

So many can't handle the truth; if we all could, we could pull together and conquer the nightmares in the world. Well put.

This is a beautiful introspective piece Anna. I also wanted to say I am moved by your response to my Cup of Empty poem. You have added colour to my world. Just know that every parent has doubts. Hugs Rick.

You've certainly covered the waterfront, so to speak, with these lines, Anna... I always also think of marriage and children as well. Who would do it if they could view what they were in for?!! LOL. … Most of us would do it over again, 'anyway.' Cheers, Gershon
