If You'Ve Lost a Loved One

If you've lost a loved one, the pain never goes away,
It just fades gradually, every single day.
You keep your memories, locked safely in your heart,
That way you feel from your loved ones, you've never been apart.
Whether you stood by their bedside, or you didn't get to say goodbye,
Doesn't make it easier, the pain still makes you cry.
Grief doesn't have a time limit, it's not set in stone,
Hopefully though, you won't always feel alone.
Take all the time that's needed, don't ever feel regret,
In time it will get easier, but you won't ever forget.
It doesn't matter how much time has passed, or how old you are,
You will always miss your loved ones and you will always have that scar.
