If You'Re Awake

If you're awake now, just know that I'm there.
I'm not in your bed, not yet, but I'm there.
When the blank sky of ceiling is too much to bear,
And your mind starts to wander, but you're not sure where.

You must be awake now, you know that I'm here.
And as long as you need me, I'll write, I'll be here.
My words will be waiting when darkness appears,
In the night you can't conquer, in the silence you fear.

Ignorant bliss is apparently true,
Because lying alone is now harder to do.
My sleep is discarded in favour of you,
So if you're awake now, you know I am, too.

Such a lovely poem, I hope you are together soon and not lying awake alone for too long. LT
