If You Had the Best of Dads

If you had the Best of Dads
By Franklin Price

If you had the best of dads
And he was called away from you
I can relate for mine was one
He was taken from me too

I was only eighteen
When he left life suddenly
No more there to be a guide
Though he is still here in me

Here in the way I live my life
To separate the bad from good
To treat all other people right
Just like I know he would

I only hope I make him proud
As he always made me so
And that others think as well of me
When it is my time to go

I'm sure he is looking down and I do my very best not to make him look away. Thanks for your nice comments.
