If You Give Me a Little Time
Could it be that you're faster at forgetting a love that's gone?
Or is it that I'm slower and try to linger on?
I suppose things would be different if I were in my prime ---
But, I think that I can make it if you give me a little time.
Forgetting would be easier if friends just wouldn't try
To convince me things are better now that you've said good-bye.
I know they want to help me with this mountain I must climb ---
But they don't know I'll be all right if you give me a little time.
If you give me a little time I'll forget the love we knew.
And with each day that passes I'll grow closer to forgetting you.
I'll look across my shoulder and leave you there behind.
Yes, I think I will get over you if you give me a little time.
