If You Find Shade

You've got it made if you find shade
When it is hot and sunny,
For boiling rays can spoil your days
In ways that aren't funny.

Aside from sweat, you might just get
A dose of melanoma
Or lethargy, to some degree
Resembling a coma.

Yet with some luck, you won't be stuck
And you can find a bower
To keep you cool, or, like a fool,
Burn up within the hour.

Yikes! I’m fair skinned, and in my youth, blonde (as in light haired, not dumb…. Oh heck, now I’m in bother) so I’m boiled lobster if I disrespect old sunny face. Enjoyed this, Ilene… it could have been written just for me ;-)

No time for invoking Stokely --- Burn, baby Burn! --- Carmichael... Every summer seems hotter to me, even if it isn't. Getting younger, I guess...
