If They
If they make you transform into a puddle of goop at their feet, then you know you’re in trouble and you should run before it gets too deep
If they convey that the words in the love songs that they hear make them think of you, and that they never paid attention to the words before, not until they found you
If they make your heart stop beating just by looking deeply into their eyes, if they make you lose your breath just from a single touch and then you audibly sigh
If they can make you feel their presence from across the room, if they can make your heart leap into your throat then forgive the language, but you’re screwed
If they can make all of the outside world vanish just from speaking your name, and if they can make your craziness disappear and suddenly you’re sane
If they can look into your eyes and you can feel them examining your soul, if they can do this then you better run before it’s too late, I know
If they can make you want nothing more than to feel their lips on your own, if they can stare you down without blinking and do nothing but turn you on
If they can just sensually run their fingertips across your skin, and if they can make you wish with every part of you that this feeling never has to end
If they can read your every thought and put words to it and express it to your racing heart, if they can make you cry out in ecstasy in a way that no one has ever thought
If they can love you after and hold you in their arms and you feel so spent but at the same time complete, if they can make you want to lie with them forever and do anything but sleep
If they can profess their undying love for you and back it up with such pure heartfelt emotion, if they can promise that they will find you wherever and that they will cross any ocean
If they can tell you I love you as they look so deeply into your eyes, if they can just walk away thereafter and never look back then you know it was all a lie.
