If the Sun Had Wings

What if the shining star at the center of our galaxy could move? Where would it go, where would it choose? What if one day it just up and took flight? Leaving our planet in a never ending night. What if the sun just got tired of shining? What if it got tired of listening to everyone's whining? If the sun could fly our world would be desolate and cold, who knows what galaxy it would end up in by the time it grew old. From the far reaches of space the star would wander, you'd wake up in the morning wondering where it abscondered. Would it stay hovering above us lighting our way or would it find a new place to call home each and every day? If the sun had wings what songs would we sing? You'd never know what each day would bring, looking up at an empty sky, you were my sunshine until you took flight across the universe, light years away, we're confused and sad, we wished you'd have stayed. No rainbows, no warmth no life to be had to think if the sun had wings, that would be bad.
