If Poetry Were a Woman

If Poetry were a woman I'll do everything to be her man I'll pick up my quill And write for her my whole will If Poetry were a woman Would you like to know my plan? Surely she'll be the toast of the town Whom I'll happily follow downtown If Poetry were a woman She'll be prettier than any female human Absent questions, I'll dutifully pay her bills That I may sleep in the valley between her hills If Poetry were a woman Despite everyone would like to be her fan She'll be the valley of many kings and men Especially those who aren't in her ken If Poetry were a woman Would you make her your fan Follow her about town From sunrise to sundown?
