If Only, If Only

Like an earthquake
With many trembles
The pain subsides
Gathers and assembles

It only currupts
I am losing sight
I wish she were here
So I could still fight

Soon I'll go blind
I'll no longer see
She's long gone
Yet right infront of me

If only she came sooner
Before I went blind
If only if only
My soul I could find

She wants to help
Yet it's not the same
She was gone too long
I went insane

For weeks I was lost
It felt like years
I cried my days away
Filled buckets with tears

I no longer can feel
I no longer can hurt
I no longer have energy
I am becoming inert

If only she came sooner
Before I went blind
If only if only
My soul I could find

For my soul is lost
Out at sea
It may be long gone
Or right by me

But it and I are not one
It has left me alone
I sit and wonder
If I was ever known

I swim with the tide
I picture a beach
I picture her heart
Which I could still reach

I see the water
No longer a storm
I see her open arms
Soft and warm

I fade from reality
I drift into dreams
Her comfort still there
And everything is as it seems

If only she came sooner
Before I went blind
If only if only
My soul I could find
