If Only I Could

If I could write a poem.
to chase the hurt away.
I would give to you those words,
for you to read each day.

If I could write a poem,
to rid the world of hate.
I would share it with the world,
before it gets too late.

If I could write a poem,
to fill all hearts with peace.
I would send out my message,
so all the wars would cease.

If I could write a poem,
to show you God’s true grace.
Then you would want for nothing,
but bask in his embrace.
