If Only
Why worry about a world,
In which you will never be perceived.
Dwelling on intangible dreams
That will never be conceived.
Never given an option,
Just going with the flow.
Hoping that you will be happy ,
Wherever life bids you to go.
Never really having a place to belong
Existing as an object of pity.
Never feeling like you’re good enough
No matter how smart or witty.
How should one cope with things?
Life is so hard and unfair.
Left alone to sit and ponder
The reasons why you still care.
Times will continually pass,
But you will stay a slave of your own mind.
Giving up hope of escaping its confinements.
Accepting the roles you are assigned.
Forever hoping your days will brighten.
Maybe tomorrow will be that day.
A time when you can finally rest
And throw your constraints away.
If only it were today.
If only.
