Notes About The Poem

If Only

An endless sky surrounds us,
a view for all to see
when darkness shines upon its veil
 the stars play endlessly.
Lighting up a brand new path,
 to twinkle in the sky
playing guess the galaxy
 without ever wondering why.
 Lying there beneath the night,
 a partner at your side
 only still and silence hears
 the secrets you confide.
If only life were like this night,
when happiness felt real
then all the wounds that hurt so deep
wouldn’t take so long to heal.

Like your style. You kept it real and did not sugar coat too much. Some pieces are better being left in natural state. About right length with words well chosen to give the right message for the reader to reexamine some aspects of life. Best regards David in NZ
