If Life Would Let Me Sing

The songs inside my soul
are crying to be free.
I find that only silence
can be their melody.
The things I'd say about your love
and the happiness you bring
would be heard from deep inside my heart,
if life would let me sing.

If life would let me sing
the songs I'd sing for you,
each hour would hear a symphony
played the whole day through.
When you thought you'd heard them all,
then another song I'd bring
to tell the world about your love --
if life would let me sing.
