If Life Had Price

If life had a price would you buy it?
Those who can’t afford to pay, long for it.
Nobody’s ever mentioned what the fee is.
Even the dead, keep it secret from the living.
So when I dream,
it’s not about nightmares but of wishes,
and I sleep hoping to wake up.
That’s why if life had a price I would pay it,
no matter what it cost to purchase it.
But if I can’t afford it,
well like everyone else I’ll have to forget about it.
