If Jesus Was Here

If Jesus was here on the earth today
Would I make him my friend or would I look away
Would I walk with him down a righteous path
Or would I sit and point, making jokes and laugh

If Jesus told me to stop hoarding my wealth
Giving more of my money away only heals myself
Would I point out that I think it is so unfair
That what I work for so hard goes into welfare

If Jesus took my guns away and reminded me
That I am supposed to love my enemy
Would I cry that it’s my second amendment right
And this tyrannical government I must prepare to fight

If Jesus told me, my neighbors I should love
Even the two gay guys living in the flat above
Would I tell him it’s unnatural and it makes me sick
Would I tell him I quote the Bible to make hate stick

If Jesus was here on the earth today
Would I make him my friend or would I look away
Would I change my ways and stand by his side
Or would I cheer with the crowd when he is crucified

You get a 7 for this one. Those are good questions. You know what Jesus said - it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to entered the gates of Heaven. If He was to come today i just pray and hope that we all choose to be with Him. Thanks for Sharing. lucilla

Awesome write. I'm not sure if its my age or the times, but I'm curious as heck to see what Jesus would do.
