If I Were a Sunflower
I am a yellow sunflower when our paths cross
I only wanted you to smile brightly as the sun
But you still decided to pluck the rose
Without realizing it is the one
Who made you bleed with its thorn
Who made you regret that summer afternoon.
But I am just a sunflower-- the irony,
And if only I were a red rose, I know you'd choose me.
