If I Stay

If I stay will you hold me
And comfort me through my tears
If I go will you miss me
And live with regret through the years

If I stay will you kiss me
With the passion you used to show
If I go will you let me
Be someone you used to know

I’ve given you all of my fragile,
Every tear I tried to hide
But love shouldn’t feel like a battle
Just to stand here by your side.

If I stay will you promise
To always be faithful and true
If I go will you fetch me
And bring me back home to you

If I stay will you keep me
Tucked safely away in your heart
If I go will you find me
Or let us drift slowly apart

If I stay will you love me
Promise to not hurt me again
If I go will you stop me
And heal this crippling pain

So tell me - is this worth saving
Or am I just afraid to be alone
If I’m already breaking without you
Maybe I’m stronger on my own

The choice I make now is forever
But what to do...I don’t know
Forgive, forget and be happy
Stay with you...or just let go...
