If I So Choose To Dream
If I so choose to dream tonight, what will I be?
I’ll think about it my every waking hour
When I drift to sleep, we shall see
I think tonight when my subconscious takes flight
I will be a ballerina I will move magically, dramatically, and full of grace
I will bring pleasure, joy, and delight to everyone’s face
When the cheers and applause fade and everybody’s quiet
Instantly, before the eye can see
I will transform into a pilot
I will take flight into the night
I will descend into a sea of scarlet
I am one with the fish, we swim so swiftly
They guide me to an iceberg
Once I emerge, I’ll climb to the top of it
Then I will turn around twice
No longer will I be standing on ice
In its place there will be a ship
I will be the captain
I will control my ships every motion
I will control the fowl in the air
And the fish in the ocean
All of his majesty’s creation will he show me
Loyalty and devotion
In the blink of an eye
Shorter than an instant
Spontaneously and miraculously
I will become a magician
I will heal the sick
I will wake the dead
All of these dreams are from the archives in my head
By the dawn, I will wake once more
Oh, that magnificent portal of reality!
Where I no longer prevail
Bound by others blind perceptions of normality
I will reign once again tonight when I fall asleep
I can be anything I want If so I choose to dream
