If I Have Time
If I have the time today,
I’ll visit with my mom and dad.
I know their health is getting bad,
but Mom insists, “We’re both okay!”
Next month I’m hoping to arrange
a get-together with old friends,
the first in ages, but time tends
to slip away. Time will not change.
I know I need to spend more time
on Bible study and church work.
These matters, I should never shirk;
throughout my life, they should be prime.

When time runs out and goals aren’t met,
excuses won’t alleviate
the hurt we’ve caused. Since time won’t wait,
priorities, we all must set.
