If I Could Do My Life Over-

If I could do my life over,
Guess what, I don’t think I can.
My life would change most tragically,
Leaving me a lonely man.
For every action has an effect,
A ripple within its time.
If I were to do it over with change
My poetry just wouldn’t rhyme.
For it would be so dark and sad
Because I wouldn’t be me, now.
I’d be some other version, you see,
life would be different some how.
My family would have never been.
My wife, I wouldn’t have met.
My children, well, don’t get me started.
This question, I’ll have to forget.
You see, I like my life just as it is;
The family, my friends, these times.
If I were to have been a different man
You wouldn’t be reading this rhyme.

This one made me glad to be me. These are all very inspiring. Keep writing!

EXACTLY, my friend! I've missed reading your words each morning. :) My philosophy is this also, poeple can't believe me when I say I really have NO regrets...for if any one minute in time were different...I'd not be here now! How can you argue with that truth? Well said! Kristin
