If I Could Change

If I could change the world
I'd have to start within
searching deep within each thought
to where it all begins
careful of the moment
and cautious to conceive
I come prepared to own it
like a child of my beliefs...

If I could change your mind
I'd take the memories
of every time you lost your heart
or fell down to your knees
all those times you walked a path
that made you lose you way
without a sign or guiding light
so you would go astray...

If I could change your heart
or just the way you feel
each second that you start to doubt
a minute would appeal
decisions that were made in haste
or things you left undone
will fall into its proper place
as pieces of the sum...
