If I Could Be

If I could be a raindrop
That falls upon your lips
I'd moisten every inch of them
As if I were a kiss

Id cover every teardrop
That falls upon your face
To capture all the sadness
With hope I could erase

If I could be a mirror
And gaze upon your skin
I'd reflect on your beauty
Which I have taken in

If I could be your shadow
At night I'd have to hide
But hope it bright and full of light
To be right by your side

If I could be your man
We'd be the best of friends
We'd make love morning, noon and night
As if it had no end

But of all the things I've mentioned here
I would most like to be
The one who holds your heart content
Forever you and me
