If I Could
If I could begin at the end
I would look back to where I began seeking the mishaps that delivered me to this miserable end
I would flatten, crush, and annihilate every wrong step from start to finish, from dusk to dawn from beginning to end
I would put down, shut down and stamp on every turbulent word shouted at you in anger with nostrils flared
I would trample, mash, pound and destroy every little white pill in your bottomless amber bottles
If I could begin again
I would take your hand, I would pilfer your heart
I would make promises of tomorrows.
I would caress you as the endless shore caresses the sea
If I could begin again
I would feel the pulse of your life touching mine.
If we could begin again
