If I Could

If I could begin at the end I would look back to where I began seeking the mishaps that delivered me to this miserable end I would flatten, crush, and annihilate every wrong step from start to finish, from dusk to dawn from beginning to end I would put down, shut down and stamp on every turbulent word shouted at you in anger with nostrils flared I would trample, mash, pound and destroy every little white pill in your bottomless amber bottles If I could begin again I would take your hand, I would pilfer your heart I would make promises of tomorrows. I would caress you as the endless shore caresses the sea If I could begin again I would feel the pulse of your life touching mine. If we could begin again

A very fine, thought provoking poem, Jim. Indeed, if we could only begin some relationships again how different they would be. An enjoyable read that encourages self reflection. Be well. Brian

That little two letter word if is the key, Jim. I imagine we all have some things in our past we would like to do over. Enjoyed reading you today.
