IF I CAN HELP SOMEBODY
If I can help somebody
May my life not be in vain
If I can do some good
Let my actions bring forth positive change
If I can help somebody

Let my life be a living sacrifice
To spare another pain
As children of the most High
We need to understand
Our sole purpose is to love God
And our fellow man
If I can help somebody

To spare another pain
When I think of all those nurses
Who toiled day and night?
Dealing with that deadly covid
With no end insight
Giving of themselves
on 24-hour call
Limited supplies. Praying fewer die
Yet refusing to fall
Earthly angels wearing hospital scrubs
Doing the most with the least
Ah there's the rub
To be a help and not a hindrance
to lift up and not let down
Disciples of Jesus where a love for others in us must be found.
If I can help somebody

To spare another pain
If I can help somebody
As a journey in this life
Let it be of service
In the name of my Lord Jesus Christ
So I give thanks to every nurse
In this nation
Angels of Mercy who stayed steadfast
Under dire situations
If I can help somebody
