If I Can

If I Can
“If one treats those lost and in need with compassion,
 amazing things will start to happen.”Quote - Poets own
If I can stop someone's anxiety 
Whilst we await safety from covid bane
If I do my bit for humanity
It won't be for gain or fame.

If I can stop some sad tears from falling
Tears of sorrow in days of emptiness 
Then I will have risen to my calling
Bringing hope to loneliness.

If I can unlock windows of one's mind
To view rainbows in the sky after rain 
I'll believe when I leave the world behind
My life hadn’t been lived in vain.
