If He Turned Away From You
If he turned away from you,
What a sudden goodbye can do
for a dedicated woman who put
her trust in a guy with no insight.
What really made you fall for him?
Was it his charming smile or blind sight
that shines light, then turns grim?
He seems close, but he's a mile distant.
If he turned away from you without a reason,
would it make wonder if he had been all yours,
or committed to someone else to escape Eden
when you offered him all the joys, all the delights.
Before you stepped into his delusive world,
you should have thought a bit for your sake;
and you wouldn't ask yourself, " If he turned
away from you, was yours or his mistake? "
If he turned away from you without a hint,
how miserable you would feel: being denied
warm touch, being pushed away, and thrashed?
Whatever you felt didn't last more than a glint.
He suddenly stopped to care, his burning lips turned cold:
he wouldn't feel anything whenever you wanted his kisses;
he slept well while you didn't, and in despair, you cried
hiding under those sheets and hearing him tell big lies.
