If Clouds Were Ships
If clouds were ships
then children would fly,
ever higher and higher,
way up in the sky.
There’s cirrus and stratus,
cumulus too, sailing on seas
of periwinkle blue,
their sails wide-billowed be.
If clouds were ships
Pan and friends would fly
calling and waving
to all passers-by.
Kids would build their dreams
with stratocumulus blocks
they never would fall
for they won’t contain rocks.
Cloud creatures abound
in sky’s stellar seas.
It would be astounding
to grow cumuli-trees.
