If All Dreams . . .

If all dreams were realities,
And all wishes came true,
The night would be morning,
And the sadness would go.

But the days would be dark,
And the sun would be dim,
And happiness just wouldn’t be the same.

If all dreams were realities,
My path might well have been clear
But a clear path would mean nothing,
Had you not been near.

Cheers for the comment! This is a free-verse piece of mine, almost a decade old. Formality is rarely important to me; I simply write what I feel. That's the beauty of free-verse :-)

work on the # of syllables per line and get a 4th line in the second verse. You start by rhyming the 2nd and 4th lines it would seem right to continue that way! Keep on writing. Light & Love Debbie
