If
IF
If only then the road were straighter
The years to reach the turn fewer
If only grass were newer
And frost had come later -
come later in year,
Still I would take
the way free ,
only
if -
Only if its path were bound for here.
For here is the only certain
Destination known to me
Where life is good and we’re
Here together free,
Enjoying the
Pleasure of
Both our
Souls -
Souls which could drift in eternity
If the past were changed and events
Occurred to produce not you,
But femininity
Equally nice and
Beautiful , but
She simply
Was not
You.
