Idle Fire

Idle Fire (A poem of 2 voices) By LoLa We were poor kids (Hands intertwined; undefined) I’ll never know her pain (Out of sight; but still on her mind) We had 5 dollars for gas (Take me away; far far from here) We burned time as it passed (Cut into my skin; make it seem clear) We fell apart in shifts (Broken, this room; it feels like a tomb) Our bodies were gifts (Please Hold me close, and cover my wounds) Why cant we turn off the noise? (Sedate me tonight; erase the sunlight) Why do the echoes hurt so much? (Dampen my brain and call me insane) We send out an SOS (Under distress; and nothing is left) I am the voice; you are the show (Lets fade away; the colors are grey) We see pain in black and white (Just me the space; and give me the night) The loudest room; a silent plight (No ending in sight; lets turn out the light)
