Idle Chit Chat
On the way home
With my kids in tow
To the all night
Supermarket we'd go
For a late night treat
that we bought each week
Our favorite pie ala mode
As an introvert
I'm not given to
talking to those I don't know
Except sometimes I
Just can't resist when the spirit bids
me so
As I stood in line
behind these three
little Asian guys ahead
Who were buying
round angle food cakes and
And cigarettes unfiltered instead
Before I could zip up
My pie hole
As the register started to sing
I asked what have you
guys got planned tonight
Gonna go home and blow smoke rings
