I'D Rather Go On Bleeding

Walk away, don't look back until you feel the need.
The need of knowing how it is to see someone's heart bleed.
Bleeding from the knife still left in my chest,
the place where you left it because you thought it was for the best.
Afraid to pull the knife out for my heart may break into,
so I'd rather go on bleeding, until the bleeding is through.

Whoa Tonya! The imagery comes out in cascades. I love the impact of the second last line - it is fear of what may or may not happen that defines our actions. Very lovely write this!
