Icy Road

Icy Road Oh, glassy look beneath my foot Easy, I groped like a child just starting to walk One limb forward, went off the hollow One foot behind wobbly to follow Both arms flailing helplessly at sides Slowly, carefully I took another stride Sweaty hands, heart beating to fight The scare that crept up my might Some cars went off the road Skidded and dumped their load Into a pavement or down a hill That gave onlookers the chills I made a brave try to proceed Attempting to crawl through the slippery way Boldly, I looked down the icy road Overcame with fear so I must pray
