Ice King

twenty minutes
with an ice cube in my palm. . .
ice king wannabe

My Conclusion:

cold stinging torture
becomes more bearable as. . .
ice turns to water

Insufficiently numbed. . .
my hand could now tolerate
a hole drilled through it

For Skat's ICE KING (in less than 10 lines) For the adventures one Poetry Contest

I really wanted to see how long it would take the cube to melt in my hand when I was laying out in the sun, around 100 degrees F. So I timed it and it took 20 minutes. It stung really bad for at least the first ten minutes and hurt all the way till the end but was much more bearable as it turned to water!! for me, this was like performing an experiment. I would not like to be the ice king.

You do some daft things Petal, children, if your watching, don't try this at home lol, Auntie Andrea's been very naughty for a grown up haha, especially the drilling part, believe me it doesn't work haha. Take care, Richard

A whacky enough experiment Andrea; however have enjoyed reading about your results and thoughts today, wishing you a top spot in Skats contest it must be better to enter something you have put yourself out to experience, hope you are doing well, Joe..'

What an awesome and delightful write you have written here my friend! I really loved reading about how the melting ice is empowered by the Ice King! The pain that is ensued by the melting ice is quite powerful as it is, but after it becomes water there's no power left within the former ice within the Ice King! What an amazing piece, Great Work!!

Long ago I had a sadistic dentist tell me to grip an ice cube while he drilled, and I wouldn't feel the pain. It worked, but I never went back to him. You're very brave to be in the sun, ice cube or not. I turn onto the proverbial lobster. I left soupmail for you in response to your comment on my Tanka 3... Jack

Fantastic work on this! This is almost like a reminder that those who want to be on top of the world (like the King approach here), it can get lonely & hurt like hell up there. Excellent!
