I Write Across the Clouds

I write across the clouds
And the birds singing by me
I look down at the world
I feel little pity

You’ve messed yourself up
And down you are going

The rise in air and
Fallen will be you
Blue has turned to black
Light has faded
And yet the active mind
Is silent,
Do you not know?
Or do you not care?

You take a plunge
From where you are to
The place where they are
But now,
They are not where they are
And where are you?

What have you become?
A change,
For what
To do what,
To change,
But to change what
Change something that
You can’t or
Something that you can

Oh, my dear child
You are a fool

Look not into the sky for your answer
The sky doesn’t hold it
If there’s anything the sky holds
They are the stars, the moon,
For the time, me
