I Would Write
If I could take the music you left in my head,
if I could bring those moments back to life;
If it would work to keep you close by?
If I could, if it would? I’d write you a poem;
If I could wave a magic wand above me,
if I could make the clock run backwards;
If it would let us be together a bit longer?
If I could, if it would? I’d write you a poem;
If I could weave a tapestry of tears,
If I could capture a crystal clear image;
if it would reignite your inspired fire?
If I could, if it would? I’d write you a poem.
If only it would. If only it could.
I would write.
