This poem is dedicated to a dear friend I had lost a year ago. He died of a massive heart-attack at the early age of 51. His name was Alan.W. Jankowski he was a poet who inspired me along the road and encouraged me to write my book. He is most famous for the poen he wrote titled " I often wonder" which is also the name of his book. If you get a minute check out his wonderful poem. Thanks for reading...All the best...Charlie

(R.I.P. Alan)

I wonder often, about the ones we lose How does the lord, he pick and choose He picks his children, he picked his son He picks the old, he picks the young I wonder often, I wonder why He gives us wings, for us to fly He leaves behind, our voice and past He sets the date, to be our last I wonder often, who's next? I say Who's next to fly, is it I today Maybe it's you, or he or she Sometimes I wish, it's not you, but me I wonder often, why the kind, why the good All my life, I've not understood God only knows, but one day, we will know What's the purpose and reason for the wings we all grow

Rest in peace, Alan...Charlie, this is such a beautiful ode to somebody who sounded like a genuine, sweet poet and person. A very hopeful pondering there at the end too. Perhaps all our wondering will come to an end someday. We will all understand. I love reading the light in your work tonight. I will check out Alan's poem now. Always, Laura
