I Wonder

I wonder how much I mean
to the ones I know
Are they really my friends
for they act so completely distant
I wonder if maybe I am just another face
if maybe by words spoken by forked tongue
they get what they need
and leave behind false feelings of friendship
leaving me in broken pieces
I wonder if that is why talk becomes blistering cold
and why I am frozen
I wonder if that is why I feel drained of life
and long for feeling
even if it is false

I wonder.....

Yet I endure because I need it
Even the pain
