I Wonder

When the swords have turned to powder,
And the guns have turned to rust,
When the wine has turned to vinegar,
And the flesh has turned to dust

When today is ancient history,
And tomorrow's long been done,
Will this earth still run its course
On its race around the sun?

When our days have reached their number,
And our stories ceased to be,
Will earth's glory lose its beauty,
When there are no eyes left to see?
