I Wish To Stay

Within a dream I wish to stay
and turn my back on light of day.
For dreams are filled with childish hope,
the kind cruel truth tries to choke.

I close my eyes and drift away,
to see the face of yesterday.
A time that holds a special place,
where all felt warm and all felt safe.

Life is not lived in the past,
time moves on and time moves fast.
All things must pass and memories fade,
so in a dream I wish to stay.

Nice one. There is a legendary bird in Ghana who looks backwards while flying forward. And sometimes all we have to do is spread our wings. Kind wishes, Kai

When we are young we dream of the future...but in time we dream of the past. Nice one Wren. Especially like “where all felt warm and all felt safe” and “time moves on and time moves fast.” This is a fav for me :)
