I Wish To Be a Poet

I’m not a very good one. Trying I might be
Placing all my rhyming bits in a soup for all to see

I just don’t know the grammar. I wasn’t good at school
Will all the critics on the web call out on every rule

Try my best I was always told by that wee mother of mine
Will the critics follow me and challenge every written line

When it comes to writing poetry I don’t know where to start
Giving it a go and typing just comes from a thoughtful heart

If you have read this far today I’m really very thrilled
I’d love you to leave a comment so I could be more skilled.

Like anything else Barbara, writing effectively takes practice and hard work. Facing the savage winds of unrelenting critics to find that place within yourself that simply has to be free. Never worry about what others may say, stay true to yourself and let the words speak for themselves. Namaste.

Thank you Phil, your comments are greatly appreciated. Small steps create a path to the future. Words create a path to the mind. Thoughts create a path to the soul. I will try to stay true to me.
