I Wish I'D Said That

I would love to compose a poem one that abounds with heart and warmth and rhythm a poem that skips merrily along gladdening hearts and enlightening minds a poem that evokes a chuckle or two that invites a pause for contemplation that poses the question ”Have you read this?” and elicits the command “You really must” should this poem flit and flutter with a butterflies gossamer touch lightly, playfully or should it dig deep be revealing and insightful should it pose questions or should it reveal answers it should I suspect do all of that but I think what it must do is touch the reader in such a way that they sit back somewhat pensive somehow gladdened and think to themselves “I wish I’d said that”
