I Wish I Was a Hamster

I wish I was a hamster
storing food in my cheeks
or a pretty caramel mouse
that sneaks and readily squeaks

I wish I was a lizard
or a horn toad
running in the desert
with a heart of gold

Did you know that when they are very happy, they can turn cartwheels? I read that somewhere the other day.

This is splendid! Good flow of rhyme as well. If I have to choose, I will go to the horn toad with a heart of gold. I extremely enjoyed reading it this afternoon. Thanks a lot for sharing dear Caren. God bless you. Hugs
