I Wish

Sometimes I wish I was a fish
So I could breathe beneath the sea
There’s times I wish I was a bird
So I could fly from tree to tree

At times I wish I was the light
That shines down from the sun
I would spread my light around the world
So I could share it with everyone

There are times I wish I was a star
Glowing brightly in the sky
I would sit there in my spacious world
Like a great big watching eye

And if I only had one wish
I don’t know what I’d say
But I’d probably wish for a million wishes
So I can have one for each day

I don’t know why I wish these things
How I wish they could come true
But if I could have my favorite wish
I’d wish to be with you

First, you are welcome. And second thank you for going back to read some of my older poems. I wrote this years ago for a Valentines poem, but I had no one to give it to.
