I Wish
I wish for sunshine
Instead of rain.
I wish for something
To relieve the pain.
I wish for flowers
That are in full bloom.
Perhaps these could relieve
My feelings of doom.
I wish for a dew drop
That daintily hangs.
Something like this
Would stop all my pangs.
I wish for a cool breeze
To refresh the day.
Perhaps for my healing,
This is part of the way.
I wish for a palm tree
To relax under.
It's presence would be helpful
To remove my wonder.
I wish for a bluebird
To sing me to sleep.
Then at this time
I wouldn't cry or weep.
I wish for clouds
That change their form.
They're things I'd relate to.
They'd make me feel warm.
I wish for the most,
This one thing I want so,
Is the heavenly promise,
A brightly colored rainbow.
