I Will Wait

I composed a song version of this poem with different lyrics but the same "beat".
When you see three "dots" ... pause for a second.

All it took...
Was your hand caress my neck...
As you passed.

Or a word...
Of affection, not some play...
You were cast.

No gifts... to please,
No wants... appeased.
So few... the signs,
Your eyes... were mine.

We create...
What we wished was truly there...
When it's not.

No ones fault...
She can't be the fantasy...
You had sought.

True romance...
Only happens when
Two hearts have
Joined as one...

Until then...
I will wait for
Love to come.

It's hopeful and I felt it straight in the heart.

Thanks, John. This began life as a song, with different lyrics, so I attempted to change it into a poetry format It still follows the exact meter of the song, but entirely different song lyrics., I appreciate your comments.....Your PS friend....Gene.

Thank you, friend Jan. This poem becomes lyrics to a song I composed. I was going to insert 3 dots at points the reader briefly pauses. I might edit and insert these. I compose piano "tone poems" for those posts that are enhanced by a background score. This is the first I've written where the text becomes lyrics. The musical version has slightly different text, in keeping with a love song..... This version is more didactic... it follows exactly the song rhythm.....Whew. ....Your friend....Gene.
